Panniculectomy after massive weight loss.
Post-op photo: 2 months
Following massive weight loss, the abdomen may be left with an apron of skin called a pannus. The pannus generally hangs over the genitalia leading to difficulty with hygiene and may cause rashes or infections. Additionally, it may interfere with daily life activities. A panniculectomy can be a medically necessary procedure that removes the apron of skin.
